I’ll Raise You Five Deck Boards And A Deck Railing

The sun is shining today, and, and, and, the temperature is, gasp, wait for it… 2C! It was -17C when we checked the thermometer this morning at 6:00 a.m., and will go down to -19C tomorrow night, but today, it is… 2C!

As I write I can see four bare deck boards stretching out from the sliding glass door, and the fifth is well on its way to baring all. In addition, the deck railing is bare in spots. Be still my beating heart. This is so exciting I may have to write a novel about it, entitled The Naked Deck. However, I myself would never read such a book, as March is a month best forgotten.

That is it, all the big news, on this seventh day of March in the year of 2014, in the Province of Ontario, in the country of Canada.

Five naked boards deep in to March! Hurrah!

Bex

Well I’ll see you and raise you a fiver — I have a window open and my heat turned OFF!

No it’s not warm out but I’ve been doing manual labor in here today and I am soaked (glistening?) from head to toe and needed some real air in the house! But the sun is shining, the birds are singing and making nests, and the BEST PART OF ALL TODAY? Paul has gone lobstering! Woohoo! Work!

Maggie

Everything else out there is white, and Tom, those boards are looking mighty fine!

Maggie

Bex, your cup runneth over! I bet Paul is happy to be back on the boat. Birds song, heard INSIDE the house, through an open window. Really, I am glad to hear of it, as spring will creep along from your place towards mine, it is only a matter of time now.

Maggie and Bex, my cup really runneth over. Ice storm on Thursday/Friday (many people still without power) and about 70F today with full sun.

Maggie

Wendy, talk about variety! That 70F is a blessing for those who depend on electricity for their heating systems to function! In an ice storm, doesn’t hour cup fill up, then pile up? 🙂
