Peonies and Roses

The garden is flourishing. Even though it has been dry, Attila has been watering everything diligently.

The heat wave started here over the course of the night. When I arose at 6:15 am, the thermometer on the back porch read 27C, the sun was still behind the clouds. It is over 30C now.

I am baking bread, and Attila is laying the hardware cloth and landscaping cloth as the foundation for the next raised bed. I think he will come in this afternoon, out of the sun and heat, and relax for a while. It is so hot out there.

This morning Attila brought in the first blooms of Granny’s Rose, the scent is wonderful. Peonies, and roses, lucky us!

The peonies and roses are lovely! I bet they smell lovely. (Too hot for peonies here, but roses are grown here.) Stay cool!

Beautiful peonies and roses!

We’re on Day 2 of above 30C. I might take a few moments to deadhead some flowers in the front garden but I won’t be out there long. It’s currently 25, possibly going for a high of 34. We’re hoping to go to a festival with DH’s daughter and he BF this weekend, so we’re hoping for somewhat cooler temps.

Hey, Maggie. You’re frustrated about Facebook. DH was just telling me about a new Canadian-based social media called Gander. They’re looking at being – I think – a kinder, gentler connection having Canadian ideals where you can avoid trolls, etc. I’m going to look into it myself, gandersocial.ca

I’ve joined as well. Hopefully it doesn’t take long for them to go live.

With the AI, they seem to be anti-bot. Hopefully that would mean also no AI in the foreground where it would connect with users.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but AI has reared it’s head on Facebook. I own a joke group on Facebook and last week they rolled out a bot that tells you what the trending topics are. I turned off the bot in my group, but I’ve already seen a bot re-start an argument in another group after commenting on and highlighting an argument that had died down.
