Blogmas Day 15: New Tires

The new tires were installed on the car today.  Attila had made an appointment to have them installed when he ordered the tires.  We both drove the garage, he in the car, me in Tank, and then after dropping off the car I drove Attila home.  Hours later I drove him back to the garage to pick up the car.  As luck would have it I had enough points on my credit card to bring the bill down to $34.00 for installing four tires, and that included a treadware warranty on each tire. Now he is all set for safe winter driving, back and forth to work.

Another dreary day out there, but not wet, no rain, no sleet, no snow.  This is fortunate for the people who will occupy the first ten units in the rental complex.  Today they are moving in.  They are moving in using rental trucks, rental trailers, rental storage units, small stake trucks, pickup trucks, vans, and cars.  The morning saw a steady parade of these motorized vehicles and trailers, all heading for the end of our street.  Nice day for it, so I hope that sets the tone.

All is quiet here at Mist Cottage.  I’ve started a do-when-you-are-bored honey-do list on the marking board on the refrigerator, just for Attila.  I would not want him to get bored.  He has already erased one item on the list, hanging a strainer on the wall for me, this is a good sign.  I’ll have to keep working on that list!

“Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people.””
