Canning Tomatoes

The day dawned crisp and sunny, it was 5C went we went out for our walk. It is warmer now though, mid-afternoon, so the windows are wide open.

Mom is doing super after her knee surgery, it is healing amazingly well. We went to visit her on Saturday, enjoyed visiting with her, and didn’t let her get much rest! We stayed a night with sister S, and had a lovely visit with S and her partner C. Sister B was at the hospital visiting Mom while we were there, so we got to see her too. We visited Mom again on Sunday.

I hated to leave, only because I wanted to spend more time with Mom. She is in good hands all round, so no worries there.

Yesterday I had an appointment to test the nerves in my arm, the pinkie went to sleep mid-August 2025 and is still sleeping. The tests showed slight improvement, no surgery recommended thank goodness, and another test some months from now.

Today we are canning garden tomatoes. Attila says there are a lot more tomatoes out there, so I think there will be a few more tomato canning sessions over the next week or so.

I am sitting here listening to Attila make noise. He is making a salad in the kitchen. What a wonderful thing it is, to here his activity in the next room. So simple, yet so magnificent.
