Summer Heat

The summer heat has arrived! We set out on our daily walk around 7:00 a.m., while it was still cool. The sun was just beginning to strengthen, there was some shade, and a breeze. I’ll set the alarm tonight, this is certainly the best way to beat the heat.

The windows are closed against the heat of day. We need to open them daily to dissipate the radon, which is still high. Since we are getting up early to take our walk, the windows can be opened for a few hours after we return, this seems to be bringing the levels down to a safe level. It is a bit disappointing that the newly installed ERV is not bringing the levels down, as we had hoped it would. It does improve the quality of the air in the basement though, and that is a good thing.

I have had further email interactions with the Patient Experience Specialist at the hospital where the surgery will take place. It looks encouraging. It provides a written record that they have been thoroughly informed of the situation. I like that, telephone conversations leave details to memory, and often those details are remembered differently. Written records can be revisited, they are a good reference for all parties.

The garden continues to delight!

I think she is right about this, with some caveats of course.

Maggie, people still need to read but at lease you now have some confidence that the information is there for them. Nevertheless, sticky note on the forehead again might still be advisable.
