Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope: kaleidoscope |kəˈlīdəˌskōp|
noun
a toy consisting of a tube containing mirrors and pieces of colored glass or paper, whose reflections produce changing patterns that are visible through an eyehole when the tube is rotated.

Sounds lovely doesn’t it?

Not always though. I have suffered in the past from migraine headaches. They have resulted in a loss of sight. The pain of headache goes away, but so does my vision. All I can see is a kaleidoscope of colours and angular shapes. I did retain limited peripheral vision during these episodes.

This has been stress induced in the past.

The headaches are starting again. It has much to do with being told I don’t have a job, while being kept around temporarily with an overload of work. Knowing all along of course, that when that work is completed I am out of a job; that any morning I may be escorted from my desk. They want me to be cheerful. I smile. I work. My head hurts, a lot.

If my vision goes I’m done for. I wouldn’t dare drive nor could I do much in the way of work on the computer. It would also slow down the job search. Sigh.

May my employers live in interesting times, well away from me!

A little rain is falling in my world, but this too shall pass.

Maggie, do take care. Don’t let them hurt you.

All best wishes–

Joan

Oh that’s dreadful. Do rest and take care of yourself. Strength to you!

Kate

Wish I had words that could help.

Maggie, I was seeing a physical therapist for a shoulder/back problem and mentioned my migraines. He told me that a lot of migraines start at the neck and with doc’s ok started a neck manipulation treatment that has finally loosened my neck muscles. The physical therapist said this should decrease the number of migraines I get-even under stress. He also gave me a series of exercises to do….Maybe there’s someone up there that can help you?
