Brrrrrrr

Last night may have been the coldest night of the winter, I certainly hope so. When we got out of bed early this morning the temperature was -32C, tonight a low of -26C is predicted. We are losing ground with the heating, the interior temperature is dropping despite all our efforts with wood heating. Mist and I are keeping very close to the masonry heater, and so we keep ourselves comfortable.

A busy day today, paperwork and subsequent filing. I dislike bureaucratically oriented paperwork. I am almost caught up!

I need to bake bread, but the indoor temperature is too low for that right now. The bread does not rise properly when it is this cool in the house. Next week I will bake bread, if I have enough time, as the temperature next week is to rise above freezing.

These widely varying temperatures are difficult to adjust to physically, as well as mentally.

Quote

“Patience serves as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against cold. For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases, it will have no power to hurt you. So in like manner you must grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs, and they will then be powerless to vex your mind.”
Leonardo da Vinci
