INGREDIENTS:
2 lemons
12 apples, peeled chopped fine
4 cups brown sugar
3 cups dried currants
4 cups raisins
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon 1 teasp cinnamon
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 cup melted butter
METHOD:
Grate peel from lemons, squeeze juice into large mixing bowl. Add peel. Chop apples and toss lightly with lemon mixture to prevent browning. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Seal in sterilized jars and store in cool place or refrigerator. Makes 8 cups, 2 litres.
