it rained. The snow is melting, melting,
melting. Attila and I are enjoying this
way too much!
I've baked two loaves of bread, and managed to get a lot of filing done. And then there was email. Since I've been busy with retraining I haven't been picking up my mail as often as I usually do. 748 spam messages to download and discard. The spam software at my hosting company isn't working all that well, in my opinion.
Attila and I are having a lot of fun going through the spare bedroom and purging by layer. The spare bedroom is presently used for storage. We did the first pass of our purge on Wednesday night, removing a large volume of empty boxes which are slated for recycling. Tonight we took out three boxes of jars, juice jars, jam jars, all kinds of washed and saved jars. They too are slated for recycling.
I like clearing this room out in stages. It is less stressful to give up only one kind of accumulated junk, and then give myself time to recover from the loss. Attila and I are hoarders, we keep almost everything. We have now decided it is time to claim some of our space back for everyday life.
To my absolute horror, I found a bag of turkey drumsticks in the freezer. These are only a year old, but honestly, I thought I'd found ALL the geriatric food! I have them simmering now, and will use the broth and cubed meat to make a turkey pot pie for dinner this week.
So, we have had a quiet Saturday at home, almost gleefully watching the rain melt away the snow.

Just not the same as the first movie.
"Be studious in your profession, and you will be learned. Be industrious and frugal, and you will be rich. Be sober and temperate, and you will be healthy. Be in general virtuous, and you will be happy. At least you will, by such conduct, stand the best chance for such consequences."
[I wish there was a guarantee with that! Modern North America seems to reward the opposite behavior.]
